Recently Skype released its app for Android devices. Using the Official app US users can make Wi-Fi calls only. But now US users can also enjoy the calls over 3G network. Thanks to Xeudoxus an Android developer who has unlocked the Skype app to be used over 3G. This isn’t a new thing to Verizon Wireless users as Verizon already allows this. If you aren’t a VZW users then go ahead and download the unlocked version to make calls over 3G too.
Note: You wouldn’t need a rooted device. Just download and install the app in the same way as you install other apps.
