Recently Google revealed Nexus S the successor of Nexus One. Contrary to its ancestor, Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung. Nexus S is the first phone to feature the new Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and the Nexus One will be the first phone to receive the Gingerbread update. Recently we reported the short appearance of Nexus S at BestBuy.com and now it’s here. Engadget has got the exclusive images of the successor of the Nexus One. Contrary to its ancestor Google Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung. These leaked images are taken about a month ago so it may be an early prototype. Nexus S is pretty similar to Galaxy S series by Samsung. The rumored specs of the Nexus S includes the long-awaited Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a Hummingbird processor, front facing camera and a 4-inch Super AMOLED screen.

The exact release date of the phone is unknown. We will update you as we receive more details of the phone.

The Official Android 2.2.1 (Build FRG83) update  is now available for Google Nexus One. So, if you can’t wait for the OTA update then here is the Official file using which you can manually update your Nexus One to the latest Android build. If you are ready then follow the simple instructions below to install Android 2.2.1 on Nexus One.

Remember: If you updated your Nexus One to Android 2.2.1 you won’t be able to root your device using one-click tool. However long methods might work.

1. Download Android 2.2.1 from Google here.
2. Rename the file to “update.zip” and copy it to your Nexus One’s microSD card.
3. Turn off your phone.
4. Keep the “Volume Down” button pressed and turn on the phone. Scroll down to recovery and press the power button.
5. When you see a triangle with an exclamation mark, simultaneously press the Power and Volume Down buttons. A menu will appear, select Apply sdcard:update.zip.

Finally Google has announced the Android Press Conference on January 5, 2010. So, its seems that Google is going to reveal their Android powered phone Nexus One along-with the details of upcoming Android versions. So we have to wait for the new year and the new phone.

Invitation letter states:
