If you are an iPhone 3G user then you will be facing low performance after iOS 4 update. After complains from iPhone 3G owners, Apple said that they will fix the issue. But there wasn’t any fix in the new iOS 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 updates. Now Steve Jobs in reply to an iPhone 3G user said that software update will be coming soon.

Here is the email and Steve Jobs response:

iPhone 3G User: I’ve waited patiently through 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, looking for a fix that will make my phone work again. I’ve read the forums that advise me to jailbreak my phone or use some other method so I can downgrade back to a version of iPhone 3, however I’m not prepared to use a method that is not supported by Apple.

Jobs’ response:

Software update coming soon.

It is expected that Apple will fix the iPhone 3G speed issue in iOS 4.1 update.

Today 11/03/2009 is a sn0w day. GeoHot is releasing the blacksn0w today, so be ready to get those calls which you missed. blacksn0w will be live at Noon EST, @t blackra1n.com. blacksn0w is the unlock for the latest iPhone baseband 05.11.07.

How to unlock your iPhone:

If you are a loyal blackra1n user who kept the blackra1n.app on your iPhone, run it. You will see Icy replaced by an option “ra1n”. Install this to upgrade your app. After upgrading, run blackra1n.app again. You will see “sn0w”. Install this, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone.

If you are new to the scene, just looking for an unlock, finally ready to upgrade to 3.1.2 and the accompanying baseband, willing to restore for the latest and greatest, or stuck on the “Connect to iTunes” screen, you are in luck. Jailbreaking and unlocking have never been easier. Go to blackra1n.com, click on the logo corresponding to your operating system, run the app, and click “make it ra1n”. When your phone reboots, you’ll see blackra1n.app. Run this, install blacksn0w, and enjoy your unlocked iPhone.

If you jailbroke using pwnage or deleted your blackra1n.app, you are in luck too. Sometime later in the sn0wday, blacksn0w will be added to Cydia, and instructions will be posted on GeoHot’s blog.

If you are on a 2G iPhone, blacksn0w isn’t an option for you. ButBootNeuter is, a completely free permanent unlock for your 2G. Of course, blackra1n will work great, and even hacktivate for you.

If you have been getting 404 errors when downloading from blackra1n.com, first off, be sure you use the links at blackra1n.com If you are, something is blocking your http referrer.

As you all know that for iPhone OS 3.1 with Modem Firmware (Baseband) 05.11.07 no software is available which can jailbreak or unlock it successfully until now. Some may jailbreak iPhone but unlocking is still a problem many of us are facing. The news which we were expecting from Dev-Team is announced by GeoHot in iPhone jailbreak community. In GeoHot’s latest post he announced a good news for iPhone 3G S and iPod Touch 3G owners along with all the previous ones. He also posted the picture of iPhone and iPod Touch Family.

He said “Meet the family. And soon you will find also the program that will run the Jailbreak for each one of these!”

It seems that GeoHot has find something which which will unlock the all the iPhones along with 3G S with baseband 05.11.07. Now still one thing for us that is wait!

Some infromation about GeoHot works:

It’s not related with GreenPois0n

Work very differently from Purplera1n But like this will require only 10 seconds to run the jailbreak

The exploit should work on any version of the existing firmware (3.1) or future!
