After five weeks of testing Firefox 5 in the Aurora builds, first beta of the Firefox 5 is now available for public download. Firefox 5 beta brings several performance and stability fixes, easy channel switching, support for the new CSS Animations standard and more.<span id="more-11330"></span></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-11338" title="do-not-track-firefox-android" src="http://www.maggadget.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/do-not-track-firefox-android.jpg" alt="" width="240" height="400" />Along with the beta for desktop, Mozilla has also dropped Firefox 5 beta for Android devices. The new beta brings support for Do Not Track feature, improved performance, smoother scrolling and many other bug fixes. Firefox for Android is compatible with devices running Android 2.0 or later.</p>
<p>The final version of Firefox 5 for both desktop and mobile will be released on June 21.</p>

The new beta brings speed and stability fixes which includes faster start-up time, 15% faster JavaScript, reduced usage of memory and processor for a smooth performance. Moreover the new Firefox 4 beta 4 packs over 100 adds-on and let you personalize the look of your browser with popular <a href="http://getpersonas.com" target="_blank">Personas add-on</a>.<span id="more-9361"></span> Android owners can download the Firefox 4 beta 4 from Android Market whereas Nokia N900 users can get it by visiting <a href="http://firefox.com/m/beta" target="_blank">firefox.com/m/beta</a> from their device.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">What&#8217;s new in Firefox 4 beta 4 for Android and Maemo:</p>

<li style="text-align: justify;">There are now over 100 add-ons for Firefox for Mobile, and counting.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Startup speed has improved visibly. This was a top request from Beta 3 users.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">JavaScript is much faster &#8211; almost 15% performance improvement in Beta 4 compared to Beta 3.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Memory and CPU usage is reduced, making the browser more responsive and stable.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Fixed several keyboard issues (top feedback from Beta 3)</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Improved support for tablets (like the Samsung Galaxy Tab) and small-screen devices (like the Motorola Droid Pro)</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Improved user interface for easy connection with desktop Firefox</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Added an option to resize text to fit the screen when you double-tap to zoom in, to optimize the reading experience. This feature can be activated in the Firefox preferences. (This is also based on top feedback from Beta 3 users.)</li>
