Samsung and Google postponed the announcement event of Nexus Prime in respect to Steve Jobs’ passing, but that does not mean that the device won’t be released anytime soon. According to a new rumor circulating on the web, Samsung’s next Nexus device will be released on November 3. Phandroid claims this quoting a very reliable source, which they cannot disclose. Nexus Prime is expected to run Ice Cream Sandwich at launch, and will have a Dual core processor. It is also expected to feature  a Super AMOLED HD display.

According to a report by Reuters, Apple will release iPhone 5 in September this year and it will feature a similar design as iPhone 4. According to Reuters, people familiar with this matter have told them that the production of iPhone 5 will start in July or August. They also report that the next gen iPhone will pack a faster processor (probably an A5 Dual Core chip like iPad 2) and will hit the shelves in September.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone will have a faster processor and will begin shipping in September, three people with direct knowledge of the company’s supply chain said.

Apple products are very important for its manufacturers too, as Reuters quotes Vincent Chen, who says “For some suppliers, Apple is their cash cow, or their bread and butter,”.

According to a tweet by @eldarmutazin first Windows Phone 7 devices by Nokia will be named as W7 and W8. According to this tweet by Eldar Mutazin, Nokia W7 will be more like HTC Mozart phone whereas W8 will be a variant of Nokia N8. W7 is currently used in house for development purposes by Nokia and it might see the sunshine as one of Nokia’s first Windows Phone 7 devices to ever hit the market. Eldar also notes that all of Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 devices will be built on Qualcomm processors.

According to Eldar, Nokia has a dozen Windows Phone 7 devices to release at the end of this year or early 2012 so that is surely going to be exciting.Via

iPhone nano rumors are getting momentum once again. Firstly Bloomberg claimed that Apple is working on a smaller and cheaper model of iPhone that is about one-third smaller than the iPhone 4. Now WSJ is reporting that according to people familiar with the matter Apple is working on a line of less-expensive iPhones.

WSJ reports that the codename of the iPhone nano is N97 and it’s about half the size of the iPhone 4, but lighter. The person who saw the iPhone nano’s prototype said that the device had an edge-to-edge touch screen and voice-based navigation. It’s expected that the new iPhone nano will cost around $199 off contract.

So why Apple needs a cheaper iPhone?

Answer is simple that Apple wants to dominate the mobile market and its only possible with a less expensive device. Moreover it’s also necessary to compete with the fast growing Android and the upcoming variety of Nokia’s Windows Phones.
