YouTube rolling out new refreshed look

by Ali on November 20, 2011

Now a days Google is tweaking the UI of almost all it’s web products and now it’s the turn of YouTube. YouTube’s new look is rolling out to the masses now. The new interface is more elegant, simple and includes tweaked buttons for the ease of access.

Here are some of the new features I noticed in the latest UI tweaks:

1. All the icons for small, large and full screen buttons now appears in the YouTube Player’s bar instead of drop down menu.

2. Gray background for the whole site.

3. New “play button” like favicon.

4. Clicked or viewed videos links appear to get red as a reminder. Also the mouse pointer over the searched videos highlight the whole part in white color for ease of access.

5. List view on the homepage for recently added videos.

I hate the new ui its sucks. It took away alot of the ease of not watching videos from some of my subscriptions. For example rooster and college humor will make a ton of videos and I do not watch all their series but now I have to go 2 or 3 screens over to find the videos and now I can not delete them. GOOGLE STOP MESSING UP. Sorry had to rant…

I really don’t like the gray backgrounc- that’s about it though.

If anything, I’d rather a lighter gray.
